Art While Traveling

Creating art while on the go can be tricky, but with a bit of pre-planning (just realized that word is totally redundant...isn't all planning, "pre"...) it's totally doable.
Before Jordan and I headed off to Las Vegas, I looked ahead in my book and made 8 little ziplocs with the art supplies I needed to make each card and wrote on the front what the challenge was for that day.

Day 112 - Paint swatch samples are a great crafting item. Just don't be a jerk and take tons of them.

Day 113 - Red magazine paper flower

Day 114 - First card in Vegas. A collage sandwich!

Day 115 - I used a mini first aid kit for this one.

Day 116 - Vegas is crazy! We had so much fun here.

Day 117 - "Go out of your way. Travel somewhere you wouldn't normally go today specifically to create something inspired by that location." A perfect travel challenge!! This was taken at the Wynn.

Day 118 - I like how this one turned out.

Day 119 - It's a bear/squirrel thing with a pocket for gummy bears...Yes, I am crazy. I think I made this one at like 2 in the morning after consuming way too many candies from the candy store.

Day 120 - This one required me to prep the box ahead of time. It's a matchbox but it was too thick, so I had to do some surgery on it.

Day 121 - I made this one on the plane ride home to Calgary. Tin foil is great for etching. I just used my nail.

Day 122 - It's suppose to be like a harp or something...so dumb. haha

Day 123 - a shout out to my Ukrainian heritage!

Day 124 - This card gives me the creeps. The girl is cut out from my 1920 magazine and I cut a slit in the wood patterned paper so it looks like she's walking through it. I added some transfers I made and a piece of a sewing pattern then stamped a bit over the surface.

Day 125 - I love colors and shapes.

Day 126 - I kind of broke the rules on the ATC dimensions on this one...But it still fits into the pocket.

Day 127 - "Mail art! Take an existing postcard and alter it, then send it to a random address (or anonymously to a friend), after documenting it of course."
I hit two birds with one stone on this one. I needed to send something to a friend due a facebook challenge I participated in called "crafty pay it forward 2013" where you made a homemade thing for 5 people who replied to your post. Then they had to post the same thing and make things for 5 of their friends.
This friend lives out of the city so I mailed her this envelope I fancied up along with a note inside and a homemade hair pin.
(I photographed what I made and printed the photo onto a 2.5" by 3.5" card)

Day 128 - I don't know how you're suppose to sum up your life in ten words...(photo courtesy of my sister Megan of Stoneman Photography)

What are you going to make today? Be creative!
